About Me

My name is James (or Jimmy) Orr. I am currently pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University. As a mechanical engineer with a passion for manufacturing and design, I enjoy taking apart complex systems to see how each piece fits together. This curiosity fuels my drive to innovate and create new solutions. Whether CADing or in the shop, I love bringing designs to life.

When I’m not in the shop, you can still find me building and designing! I love to express myself with miniatures and Lego bricks, combining my love for design and manufacturing with toy models. My love for engineering grew from the same creativity I bring to my Lego and Warhammer models: understanding how pieces fit together, refining details, and transforming small components into a larger, functional design.
